Description
Overview
New position leading all sales, commercial, and project delivery activities for our client in Japan.
You will be the country head managing the current small team of around five people and building and expanding the team as the business grows.
Responsibilities
Customer & Stakeholder Relationships
– Build and sustain trusted, senior-level relationships with leading utilities, IPPs, and project developers, including the major Japanese energy groups driving offshore procurement decisions
– Serve as our client's senior commercial voice in Japan; represent the company at industry events, government forums, and high-level stakeholder meetings
– Act as a trusted advisor to key accounts, developing deep knowledge of their strategic priorities and positioning solutions accordingly
– Navigate Japan's complex regulatory and governmental landscape with confidence, acting as the senior interface on policy and auction-related matters
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Development
– Track and analys market trends, policy shifts, and competitive movements across Japan's offshore wind sector
– Identify emerging project opportunities and assess commercial risk and potential across the GI auction pipeline
– Feed market intelligence back to the APAC team and HQ to shape product strategy and regional positioning
Sales Strategy & Execution
– Develop and execute a commercial strategy to win market share across GI Rounds 1, 2, 3, and 4
– Lead contract negotiations for high-value offshore wind turbine supply agreements, driving to close
– Prepare and present sales forecasts, pipeline reviews, and strategic market analyses to senior leadership in Japan and Europe HQ
– Build and mentor a high-performing local sales team over time, establishing the commercial capability to sustain long-term growth
